Windows 7 64 Bit

Thinking of getting a Windows7 Pro  64 bit? When Windows Vista came out, it sort of made 64-bit computing the mainstream. Almost no one really cared about it though. This is because Windows XP had its own version of 64-bit. But that was passed around almost carefree without regard for customers who could not distinguish 32 from 64. But now that Windows 7 has been available for some time, retain versions include both a 32 and 64 bit version. Therefore is 64 bit useful? Actually, it is.

But when it all comes down to things – the answer may be a bit complex. You won’t find any software – these days anyway – that doesn’t go with a 32 bit, this certainly includes Windows 7. Most professionals may even have difficulty differentiating 32 and 64 bit apps in most situations. But 64 bit gives you options that 32 bit doesn’t. And suffice it to say, you need to get 64 to take the fullest advantage of them.

The most beneficial advantage of 64 bit is memory. A 32 bit system is limited to some 4GB of RAM. Not even that – 3.25GB maybe because a portion of the RAM will be occupied by BIPS, PCI and the PCI Express buses among other things. But a 64 bit system – which has 264 memory addresses will allow your computer to be more efficient at interchanging processes in and out of its physical memory. This makes the performance faster. A 64-but OS may theoretically have 16 exabites – that is 16 billion GB. But of course Microsoft may limit it to 16TB on address space and allow some 128GB of RAM only. That’s still a lot more than fundamental memory needs.

If you don’t have 4GB of memory or more of it, then you may not be able to take full advantage of running 64-bit windows. But a 64 bit OS, given a relatively large memory store such as 12GB – can make a significant difference when deploying the software. One of the most common examples is Adobe Photoshop CS-4. 64-bit support, however has become increasingly prominent in apps that are complex and intensive on processing requirements.

Of course, in order to run Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, you will need 64 bit drivers. All device drivers need a digital signature as well. Not all apps will work on 64-bit Windows but you may need to find 64 versions of those applications. But support for 64-bit has already increased as years have gone by so there is a higher chance your usage of this type of software will be very smooth. Why not try getting Windows 7 Pro today? Maximize your business and home computing abilities.
