The Best Things about Windows 7

Windows 7 Home Premium may just be the OS you need if you are looking forward to stepping into the future of Microsoft’s latest upgrades. Sure enough, it has been around for some years now. But if you aren’t familiar with what the benefits of Windows 7 are, here is a good primer on the software. There are small differences, while there are major changes from its predecessors – but to date, it is still a useful platform for business and home computing.

What are its best features? First, is speed. In spite of some issues that Windows Vista had before, speed is probably Win 7’s number one asset. Windows 7 is more responsive and dynamic than any of its former predecessors. Microsoft has put a lot of time into perfecting the response of the Start Menu. Windows 7 makes you feel that you are more in control and Win 7 gives you a faster boot time than Vista. It gives you a speedier and graceful boot.

Second is compatibility. Windows 7 can outperform Windows Vista. A lot of people and organizations that used Windows XP did not necessarily acquire the necessary upgrades right away. But all of the apps on Vista still does run on Win 7. Provided you have the right hardware, the OS should run smoothly on your device.

Third, you don’t have to bust your butt on hardware! Vista has been known to be so demanding on the end of machinery. However, Windows 7 may run on low end hardware – thus making a smoother transition from Windows XP. Windows 7 may also run on netbooks and this provides an efficient counterpart for XP. Windows 7 Starter, however only runs 3 apps at a time. So it may be best to get the Home Premium.

One of the coolest things about Windows 7 is its search tool which has been significantly improved from its predecessors. For instance, you can type the word [mouse] – and the mouse option in the control panel will pop up thus creating nice subdivisions from files, folders to other apps. Libraries is an expansion of the My Documents folder. Different Libraries including Documents and Pictures give you access to different locations so you do not have to cram everything all in one spot.

If you feel that Windows 7 Home Premium is the one for you, then the best thing to do is to go for it!
