Making the Most Out of Windows 7

If you want to make the most out of your Windows 7 software, you should take note of certain tips and short-hand that will make your experience better.  What are some of these tips? First, you can use shortcuts. Windows 7 remains one of the best platforms out there, so why don’t you make the most out of it?

For instance, if you press the windows key simultaneously with the left and right arrow keys, it will crop the window corresponding to the left and side of the screen depending on which arrow you press. You can vertically stretch a window by simultaneously hitting the Windows key along with Shift and the Up Arrow. Similarly, you can zoom in and out of your display by pressing the + or – keys.

You can clear the background programs by pressing the Windows key plus the Home key. The Windows 7 search is can be accessed by clicking Start, hit the Windows key and type the name of the program that you intend to run.  Windows 7 is very precise in finding the right match and you can begin to run that file by pressing enter. If more than a single match is find, simply use the up-down arrow keys to browse through the selection and select the file you intend to run. Then hit Enter.

Sometimes, you may need to run an app as an administrator. You can run any program in admin mode by using the search box. Look for the program you intend to run. Don’t press Enter directly however – instead hit Ctrl+Shift+Enter in order to run it in admin mode. If you intend to click and run a program as an administrator, hold down the Ctrl+Shift key and then click the icon.

You can pin programs to the Taskbar. This allows you to access them easily without having to click on Start. Pinning a program to the task-bar simply requires you to right click on the app and look for the option that says Pin to Taskbar. You can simply do this by dragging the icon to the taskbar as well.

These are just some suggestions for you to maximize your use of Windows 7 software. Go ahead and experiment with whatever modes of using Windows 7 work for you. The important thing is to stay productive while allowing your creative juices to flow. Win 7 is one of Microsoft’s winning achievements when it comes to OS’s and robust software in general.
